El Kikirikí Biqüéy is a Rumba group formed in 2019 by a diverse group of New York musicians. The group is based in the heartland of America: Bedstuy, Brooklyn, where they host weekly rehearsal/hangs. Although the different members of the group have varied musical and personal backgrounds, they have come together to focus on learning, presenting, and getting down with Rumba music.
La Rumba is a distinctive style of Afro-Carribean music from Cuba centered around syncopated drumming and singing. The music is meant to be pondered, and analyzed, but overall to be danced to, and partied to! ¡La Rumba es para gozar!
